What is VoIP?
VoIP allows you to make telephone calls using the Internet.
VoIP converts the voice signal from your telephone into a digital signal that travels over the internet then converts it back at the other end so you can speak to anyone with a regular phone number. VoIP has the potential to completely revolutionise the way the world's phone systems operate. Arithon is looking to be one of the first recruitment software companies to integrate VoIP into its software with its brand new feature "Click to Call".
Why is VoIP good for business?
The most immediate benefit of VoIP for most businesses are savings on mobile and international charges. Users of Arithon's "Click to Call" system can place telephone calls over the Internet rather than the normal telephone network and avoid paying some of the higher charges that ordinary telephone companies charge.
How to use Arithon Click to Call?
Beside each field in Arithon which contains a telephone number there is a phone icon, users can click this icon to call the number. When a user clicks on the icon, a new window opens which contains the "webphone" software (you may need to installed the ActiveX component if prompted to). Login to the webphone using your Arithon username and password. You can now paste in the telephone number (it is automatically copied to the clipboard when you click the phone icon), ensure that the number is in international format, ie 0870 141 7299 will be written as 00448701417299. When the full number is entered, press the green "call" button and your call should now begin.
While the "Click to Call" feature is currently in Beta Development, we would ask the feedback be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org regarding the feature. We would especially like to hear people's views on call quality/clarity, don't forget to include the type of call you were making, ie. UK Mobile - Orange, Landline in France, etc. as this will help us to improve the service for its official launch.
